After reading this and watching the trailer, what came to mind oddly enough was Heinlein's classic "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress." As a stark contrast in almost every aspect of storytelling, but also a story about a rebellious moon...and it was never mutilated into a movie, which is probably A Good Thing.
