This is an archetypal huckster line - just replace "crypto technology" with whatever the scam product or service is.

It is no "alternative" at all (and not 'real' either) - it is only a shiny new non-object to put under a shell in the same old shell game. There was a brief period when blockchain based currency might have been some kind of alternative for the many. But it was quickly turned into yet another speculative mechanism for the few to screw over the many with. The many who believed their con anyhow.
