Great piece, thanks for writing it. Especially:

"Who decided NT communication is better in the first place?"

Well, NT's of course.

In fact only "they" decided that "they" are "Typical" - but only according to them. And whatever "Typical" means - in most cases "they" take it to mean "right," "better," "normal" and so on. But for whom, when? It's all relative to who has the power to control definitions of "normal."

I have a friend who figured out at some point that she didn't read facial expressions the same way as lots of other people. So she learned how to read them in more common or "typical" ways, because it made her social life more enjoyable, richer. But there's nothing "wrong" with her own innate reading of them - just different.

I see humans as having a neurology spectrum with multiple dimensions, and everyone is somewhere on those dimensions. Each has its strengths and challenges, and benefits for society in different ways. For example, "Ask why before blindly following the leader." Like the little boy in the story of the Emperor's new clothes...!
