Humans make meaning through telling stories. We always tell them; we tell them to try and explain our experience. Religions are stories, magic is stories, animism is stories, "science" and "techno-scientific progress" is stories.

What are the consequences of a given story being mistaken for "the only true story?" That is where attention is needed.

Also, if one thinks "nature" (that is, the earth's living systems) is a headless zombie, one is truly not paying attention.
