I appreciate your brief history of this form of spectacle. Ironically, it is exactly the wrong way to discourage more such attacks by others. Anyone looking for fame and attention by whatever means necessary sees this show as proof that they'll get it too, if they just attack an "important enough" person. Watch for possible "copycat" attacks in the near future. All this is researched and documented since decades ago, yet the spectacle continues, showing how one can get famous almost instantly.
