I will be curious to see how your VCPs work out. I would even attend some to find out.

AND - I'm much more curious if you connect the dots between your comments on human behavior and what would actually have to change. For example:

"This isn’t about the evil oil industry, although we can and must dismantle that deadly force."

What would this actually look like in daily life? To 'dismantle' the oil industry, which means the disruption and/or destruction of what's dependent on it? Because actually this is about the oil industry.

Our everyday life is massively dependent on the oil industry, or rather the fossil fuel industry - coal, gas, oil, tar sands, all those ancient sunlight products - and all that it provides. Which is basically every necessity of current everyday life in the industrial world, from heating (or cooling) and lighting to transportation to communication to food, water, shelter, clothing. We are all deeply complicit in what relatively few of us might already be protesting. If we protest, we are protesting our own manner of existence. And that's a tough sell, for most people.

I agree we cannot continue as we have, and are. I also wonder what you imagine will happen such that billions of people will willingly shift from the only manner of living they know to something radically, and for most unimaginably, different.
