If you’re going to invoke ‘science’ to prop up your arguments, then it would be wise to ask any reasonably competent species biologist about population issues. Population is a factor in the viability of every species, ours not excepted. Certainly not the only factor, but to claim it doesn’t matter is to ignore the very science you invoke.
