I'm curious about your take on 'disabled'. It seems you consider it not to be a negative label. The etymology of the prefix 'dis' seems to indicate otherwise. Likewise dictionary definitions tend towards 'inoperative', 'impaired', 'injured'. All of which seems to imply that being disabled is being less than some mythical fully abled or "normal" person. So how, in your experience, is 'disabled' not a pejorative term?
