I'm curious if you read the last couple paragraphs of the article you cite. That's where I'm coming from.

I never wrote that lots of swearing means small vocabulary; I don't subscribe to the "POV" theory mentioned in the article you link. Anyone can have a big vocabulary - clean as well as profane - but not know how to use it effectively (as the linked article points out).
