As for referring to him as a dead white man historian — history of conquest is normally written by the victors and excludes or lies about whatever is not congruent with the story they want to be told. Read “Dark Emu” by Bruce Pascoe for a stark example of this in the British subjugation of Australia.

Zinn, whatever shortcomings some attribute to his scholarship, was born into the conquering demographic of white males, yet chose to offer different perspectives on the same historical span.
