In broad terms I generally agree. Timeline details TBD, but there will be a massive population crash, as with any species that massively overshoots carrying capacity. And the vast majority of humanity, willingly colonized by linear industrial society, will handle the end of that society very poorly.

This bit I don't grok though: "If we can maintain our digital knowledge for a hundred years after the fall, it may be possible for mankind to flourish again." Can you elaborate? What is included in "digital knowledge?" What good would that be in a post-industrial world? And what do you mean by "flourish?" Flourishing is a team event - when we're destroying the ability of most other life on earth to flourish, and we depend on that life for our existence, how is that "flourishing?"
