It's always fascinated me that one person, or a handful of people at most, can control the lives and fates of thousands, tens of thousands, millions, and now billions. As you say - only because the many allow the few to do so, whether they think they are 'allowing' it or not. Unfortunately The Who was wrong - we do get fooled again, and again.

A practical challenge here is obtaining this level of cooperation and coordination from the many. "Divide and conquer" is time-proven, extremely effective, and very difficult to counteract. Especially when it's as internalized as it is in dominant culture.

Another practical challenge is that most fundamental aspects of our basic survival - water, food, shelter, communication as we know it, transportation as we know it - are dependent on fossil fuels.

I salute and agree with the spirit of your invitation, and, the details get a bit messy...
