It's an unwell society that trades this level of pathology in exchange for a few shiny trinkets. Humberto Maturana perhaps puts it best: "How we do what we do is who we are becoming." Sociopathic adolescent "titans of industry" are not required for the creation of "nice things," and are in contradiction to creation of healthy cultures.
