Re the gender aspect, and patriarchy - I just read a report that exit polls indicate younger women were voting for Harris 30% or more over Trump. And younger men, 30% for Trump over Harris. Plus there's the non-trivial chunk of non-white males who voted for Trump. So while I agree that the Dems lose people when they ignore policy basics (health care, living wage, housing, public safety, etc.) and wander off into the weeds of identity politics, gender in this basic sense and patriarchy as a larger context in which all this happens remain significant factors.
