Spot on. We are being 'allowed' to rate all the wrong people. There's a Black Mirror episode that plays this out splendidly (actually one of the least dark episodes).
And you're lucky they still knock, not to mention hand you the package, there in the UK. In the USA, at least where I live now, they don't even knock. Makes it that much easier for the package thieves who follow delivery vans around. Recipients don't even know there's been a delivery.
My favorite Nextdoor post is one from somebody's video-doorbell-cam, showing a delivery person blithely dropping a package onto the stoop from hand height (it was a computer hard disk drive in the box...). My comment was that at least they didn't lift it up an extra bit before dropping it, like airline baggage handlers do.
