Thanks for a good exploration of problems of context and accountability with regards to "free speech."

My very short summary of what is being outlined here is that ultimately there is no "freedom" (of speech or anything else) without responsibility (same for "rights," but that's another thread...). The "free" speech that some are advocating for, and practicing, is fundamentally irresponsible. As pointed out in this piece, they want to say whatever to whomever without consequences. But there are always consequences. It's just that too many people don't want to be responsible for those consequences. It's an ultimate childish fantasy - action without consequence. Not surprising, in a society where no one is required to grow up and be an adult responsible for consequences of their actions.
