Thanks for bringing nuance and context into this. The dumbing down of the USA has all but eliminated opportunities to consider context, and nuance. It's all gotta be this or that...either with us or against us, as a former POTUS said.

THAT kind of thinking is our real problem.

It's not simple, it never was, and any conversations about race and ethnicity worth having are going to be both complicated, and, uncomfortable and upsetting, especially to those with implicit or explicit racial and/or ethnic privilege in any given context.
