Thanks for publishing this lived experience. I've never fired this type of weapon, but from the types I have (modest hunting rifles, shotguns, a .22 pistol) my expectations would have been similar to yours, and my surprise similar as well. With a gun we can wound or kill other people with a few ounces of finger pressure. No other weapon enables that. The fact that these types of weapons make it even easier is even more distressing.
