Thanks for this. The parable/fable/cautionary tale of the Sorcerer's Apprentice is relevant here. We got clever enough to launch a powerful spell...but not wise enough to know better than to do that. And never clever enough to control that spell, which has consequences we can't fully predict and some we can't even imagine. Also, in this case, there is no Wizard who will return to the castle to stop the mayhem in a safe and predictable way - we'll suffer the full consequences of our arrogance. In this way, our lack of wisdom is self-correcting. But the rest of life on earth does not deserve the damage we've done to it.
