Thanks for your pieces, it's fun to read about an exchange student's contemporary experience of Sweden. I was a college exchange student in Lund, some decades before you were born probably :-). The Öresundsbro was just a crazy dream then, but the rest sounds familiar - personnumer, SFI språkkurser, national health, systemet, osv. Snus was at least as nasty then as it apparently still is. It was much easier to open a bank account back then, and cash was still the most common way of paying for most goods & services.

You forgot to mention the most visual part of graduation - everyone throwing their studentmössa in the air!
