I think if it were a concert maybe organized by Blinken's staff, with mostly homegrown talent and maybe some appropriate global acts mixed in but not dominating, all in support of lightening some of the darkness, it would have read better as well as been a better show. Blinken is our 'effing SoS, and I think he has to give that role priority and not his desire for getting some musical stage time. Recruit and fund music, sure. Be the band...not a great call, all considered.
