We've never had a system of "justice." What we have is a legal system that primarily serves the holders of power. Occasionally it generates something that might look like 'justice' as well, but that is not its primary purpose.

Now that diverse groups of people long oppressed in the USA have started getting too close to maybe actually getting some justice, we see how our legal system functions to prevent that from happening.
