Yeah I agree actually, I was being too subtly ironic in my original comment. It's a standard authoritarian tactic to sacrifice the faithful if/as necessary. Or even unnecessary, but just went down that way, oops, oh well...

But I don't think this was a fake. If you slow-mo the video and see his face as he comes up in the middle of the agent scrum, and as he is taken off the stage - his expression is pure, regressed terror. His performative impulses/habits still kick in, with the fist pumping and mouthing "fight," but his face stays in shock and terror even as he does that, and the whole time it's visible on the way to the SUV. You can see it in the shot of his face thru someone's legs while he's still down on the stage also. I can't credit him with the acting skills to fake that - plus, it's not his type of performance, he would never want to be seen that way. His script would not involve hitting the floor and being piled on by security bros.
