You've nicely captured the active hypocrisy of certain segments of religious activity here in the USA. At least those folks are blatantly hypocritical. Almost worse are the passive segments - those who profess Christ as their guide, but consistently fail to act as Christ instructs. Some of the most "Christian" people I've met in terms of action on the ground have been excommunicated from their former religious affiliations. For behaving too much as Christ instructs.
